Eisenia hortensis are a shallow dwelling worm that are happy to live in soils with plenty of organic matter, they are not a deep burrowing worm which makes them ideal for use in planting situations where the soil is naturally shallow or where raised beds have been constructed or even under lawns! If they are to thrive then a regime of adding compost or mulch has to be in place.
The .5kg weight will populate an area of 50 square meters, this is at an ideal density, the amount can be reduced even down to half (ie. .5kg to 100 square yards) but this will take them longer to establish.
The worms looked really healthy and good size, came with good instructions for ‘planting’ them
They arrived on time and in excellent condition very pleased indeed many thanks, Patrick
Healthy looking worms.
These worms are great my tame Blackbird is loving them and he’s feeding his brood very well with very little effort. Thanks
