To ensure our live products reach you in the best condition, we dispatch orders on days that avoid delivery over weekends and holidays. We dispatch orders on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (excluding holidays).

The next expected dispatch date is Thursday 30th June.    


Will my order be dispatched the same day?

Orders received by 12pm on Mondays to Thursdays are normally dispatched on the same day. Orders received after 12pm may be dispatched the following day, or Monday if ordered on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. During periods of high demand or adverse weather, your order may be dispatched later.

Look out for the dispatch date shown on this page and in the basket/checkout before you place your order. The dispatch date for your order is also shown in your confirmation and order dispatched emails.

 

When will my order arrive?

We will send you an email when your order is dispatched, so you will know when to expect delivery. Your order will be delivered the next day by 1 pm (Express delivery) or within 1 day (Standard delivery), depending on the delivery option you selected during checkout. We find that most customers receive standard delivery orders the next day (98%), but this is not guaranteed. If your order is urgent or needed sooner, please choose the express delivery option at the checkout.

 

What if I’m not home when my order is delivered?

Because our products are perishable, we advise the delivery driver to leave the item in a safe place. The customer should be aware of the delivery date as we will notify you by email that it has been dispatched and the carrier will also notify you of the delivery date. If the delivery has been returned (not considered safe to leave) to the carrier depot, please collect or rearrange delivery as advised on the card as soon as possible, especially if your order contains live products. We are not liable for the deterioration of live products due to missed delivery or delayed collection by the customer.

If you think you will be unable to take delivery of your order, you can specify an alternative delivery address in the checkout, or if the item has been dispatched, request that the delivery be left in a safe place (see below). Express delivery may be worth considering.

 

Can I request my delivery be left somewhere?

Yes, you can provide delivery instructions in the Order Notes when you checkout. The instructions you provide will be printed on the delivery label. However, we cannot guarantee that the carrier will follow them. The location you specify must be secure and, if your order contains live products, the location must avoid extreme temperatures, such as a greenhouse. If this is requested, we will not accept responsibility for any deterioation.

Worms must be kept cool and out of the sunlight. Our recommendation, especially when the order contains live products, is that arrangements be made with someone who can accept delivery on your behalf. We cannot be held responsible for live products left unattended that have deteriorated due to overheating or freezing. If you have requested that the order be left, the responsibility for that order’s safety passes to the customer. If it goes missing, we will not replace it, If a request has been made for the order to be left and then a claim is made for it not being delivered, we may ask for proof of this from Royal Mail.

 

How long does standard delivery take?

Standard delivery is included in all our prices. This is normally the day after dispatch, but it is not guaranteed. If your order is urgent or needed earlier in the day, please choose the express delivery option in the checkout.

What is express delivery? 

Due to the workload leading upto Christmas our carriers – APC, have suspended the express delivery option, the “12 noon” choice  that we used,           we do apologise for this inconvenience, it will be re-instated as soon as possible.

Please note orders placed for express delivery (next day by 1pm) will no longer be a guaranteed delivery time, your order will be prioritised and dispatched on the next available dispatch date on the quickest service available, we will not refund if it misses the time but we will refund the additional payment if it misses the date.

Express delivery is a guaranteed next day by 1pm delivery service for orders received by 12pm. Orders received after 12pm may be dispatched the following day. Please note we do not dispatch every day (see above). We will send you an email when your order is dispatched.

During periods of high demand, hot weather, or where we are unable to fulfil your order e.g. stock shortages, your order may be dispatched later, however, we will always prioritise express deliveries whenever possible but if the dispatch date is changed you will receive an update email, if the new date is not acceptable and you wish to cancel the express delivery we must be notified before the new dispatch date. We will send you an email when your order is dispatched so you know when to expect delivery.

My order still hasn’t arrived?

There’s a problem with my order?

Do you deliver outside the UK?

We do not deliver outside the UK, and orders cannot be placed online. If an order is placed online for delivery outside the UK, it will be cancelled and your payment refunded subject to deductions for any bank charges we may have incurred.
