Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, it is our aim to dispatch all orders received before 12 noon the same day but it is not guaranteed.
During the busy months of spring and summer we may have to book a day or so ahead, please check the dispatch date and keep this in mind, particularly if you require your order by a certain time/date.
The information above also applies to orders placed for guaranteed delivery.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays, we do not dispatch orders.
If you are out.......
Most posties will leave somewhere safe if asked, however sometimes they will return the order to the sorting office leaving a card, if your order is late in delivery please check with the sorting office to see if it is there before informing us that it has not been delivered. If it is subsequently found that the order has been returned to the sorting office and has not been claimed we cannot replace.
Leaving "on the doorstep" (and elsewhere)
Customers often ask us "to leave if out" please note, we advise strongly against leaving live worms unattended, particularly during warm weather, they can quickly deteriorate in a short space of time. If a consignment has been left at the specific request of the customer it then becomes the customers responsibility.
We will not be responsible if their condition has deteriorated on your return, we cannot be responsible if the worms are subsequently cooked, frozen or the order disappears.
We and the worms would be much happier if arrangements were made with a neighbour who understands they need to be kept out of sunlight and cool.
A little explanation as to what the various delivery options offer
Royal Mail 1st class
This service there is no charge and is included in the standard "free" delivery and does not require a signature it is hopefully and usually delivered next day after dispatch, this is not guaranteed so please allow extra delivery time, if after a couple of working days and you still have not received your order please get in touch with us on 0845 519 9502 (local). We cannot be responsible for the condition of the order subsequently delivered, if we are not notified of any delay within this period.
For services with Royal Mail other than those requiring a signature, delivery is made to the premises NOT the addressee, if the delivery is left by Royal mail without notifying anyone and there is subsequent loss then any claim will be between the receiving customer and Royal Mail.
Guaranteed Next Day and Guaranteed Next day by 1pm
If your order is at all time critical, certainly within the 4 days allowed for delivery, we would strongly recommend using Guaranteed delivery, this option can be selected when checking out your order.
Please note, if your order is sent by Guaranteed Delivery and is not delivered on time (extremely rare) we will refund the cost of this service, sorry but we will NOT refund the value of the whole order.
Guaranteed next day is a guarantee for the day after a normal dispatch day, IT IS NOT a guarantee we will dispatch on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or any Bank Holiday.
We may use Royal Mail or APC for this service depending on weight of order.
All guaranteed delivery orders require a signature, please do not ask us to put "if out" notes on the order.
The tricky subject on "How long do we give Royal Mail to deliver?"
Royal Mail do not consider anything "lost" until 15 working days have elapsed, we cannot apply this to live creatures but we do give 4 working days before considering and sending out a replacement, if the goods should arrive during this time and are not in good condition due to the delay we will replace the goods, please see our full terms and conditions.
Most smaller orders are dispatched by post, whilst most posties are very helpful and will deliver next door if you are out, it is unfair to ask them to deliver to another street, leave a note and give you a ring!
Larger orders are usually sent by a carrier and will need signing for on arrival, if you are going to be out, please give us instructions when placing the order, where it can safely be left at your risk, we would much prefer you make arrangements with a neighbour.
We rely on your e-mail address to update you on dispatch of your order etc, if you give us an incorrect e-mail address you will not receive the updates, similarly if your telephone number is incorrect or left out altogether we cannot get in touch, please note, we do not sell or pass on any of your details, they are purely requested so we can provide a better service and keep you informed.
We do get a percentage of e-mail updates being returned, particularly with Hotmail or MSN, this is usually down to your spam filter settings, if you have ordered and not received an expected update please check your spam box.
All orders that are sent by normal first class post, Special Delivery or Standard Parcels include deliveries to Northern Ireland, this includes all worm weights up to and including 2 kilo, Lobworms, all Worm keepers and the .25kg and .375kg worm and bedding kits, any goods that have to be sent by a carrier, such as wormeries, will have to be priced individually - warning, carriers add a hefty surcharge to catch a ferry!

Orders for outside the UK. cannot be placed online, If you try to get around the system and place an order as if it is in the UK, it will be picked up manually, we will cancel the order and refund your card payment less the costs we incur from the banks for processing the payment and refund.
