When the good Lord created the humble worm he surely did so in the knowledge that this was his gift to the anglers of the future. Those of you who doubt that the worm is a divine creation, consider this: the worm is the perfect fishing bait. You must have been in a situation when you have been out fishing and you spot a big fish cruising in the margins. What is the first thing you do? Fumble around in your box for that almost forgotten packet of eyed sixes and then go scrambling around, digging at the earth with your fingernails and lifting old logs or stones. Why? Because if there is one bait that will make that fish bite, it is a worm. Cursing the fact that you forgot (again!) to bring any with you, the chances are you'd sell your granny for just one big, juicy lobbie..
